Emergency Appointments for the Issuance of Ordinary Passports
Italian citizens registered with the AIRE can request the issuance of a new passport through an expedited procedure in cases of justified and documented urgency.
If these reasons are deemed valid, an appointment will be scheduled, subject to payment of the specific emergency fees established by law.

The mere possession of an airline ticket cannot be considered a valid reason for the issuance of a passport through an expedited procedure.
Emergency procedure benefits due to work and health related reasons CANNOT be extended to the applicant’s family members under any circumstances.

The Office reserves the right to assess the validity of the reasons claimed.
The Consular Chancellery grants preferential treatment to applicants who fall into one of the following categories:
- Pregnant women
- Individuals over seventy (70) years of age
- Disabled individuals
- Children under twelve (12) years of age
