The interested party must submit:
- An application form duly completed and signed;
- A valid Government issued identity document, issued by the authorities of the country of current citizenship;
- Proof of residence in the Consular Office’s district;
- Birth certificate issued by the Italian municipality at birth or the registration of the birth certificate;
- Certificate of foreign naturalization;
- A copy of the Italian passport, if available;
- A marriage certificate or divorce decree, if relevant for updating current Vital Records;
- Receipt of payment of the €250 fee to the Ministry of the Interior.
Further documentation may be requested based on the specific situation of the applicant.
Documents relating to the Vital Records of the applicant issued abroad must be submitted in proper form, duly legalized or apostilled, where required, and translated into Italian.
