Costs
The €250 (two-hundred-and-fifty Euro) fee to the Italian Ministry of the Interior, is payable exclusively by:
- PagoPA when completing the application or
- Bank transfer to the bank account indicated by the Italian Ministry of the Interior
(the receipt of which must be included in the online application),
The payment, together with any fees borne by the person instructing the transfer, must be issued using the following information:

Reason for payment: “Citizenship by marriage pursuant to art. 5 of Law 91/1992 – [First and Last Name] applicant”
Applicable Consular table articles are the following:
- Signature Authentication: art. 24
- Translator’s Signature Legalization: art. 69
- Certified copy of a valid Government issued identity document: art. 71
(where the document is not in Latin characters, a translation is also required) - Certified copy of the language knowledge certificate: art. 71
- Certified translation of Vital Records documents and Background Checks records: art. 72A
- Date of reception of the sworn statement: art. 8
