Only the following cases will continue to be evaluated according to the regulations applicable as of March 27, 2025:
- Complete applications submitted by 11:59 PM (Rome time) on March 27, 2025;
- Applications submitted on the day of an appointment communicated by the competent Office by the same deadline;
- Judicial applications submitted by the same deadline.
In light of the new law, it is specified that:
Only applications submitted before March 27, 2025, at 11:59 PM Italian time, accompanied by the necessary documentation, will follow previous regulations.
“Submitted” applications are defined as applications:
- delivered to the Consular Office before the date and time indicated above;
- sent by mail with date and time tracking, before the above-mentioned deadline;
- sent by mail without date and time tracking, but received by the Consular Office before the above-mentioned deadline;
- received on Fast-It before the above-mentioned deadline.
Only applications, accompanied by the required documentation, submitted to the Consular Office on the date indicated by an appointment scheduled and communicated to the applicant by the competent office by 11:59 PM Italian time on March 27, 2025, will be subject to the previous rules and regulations.
By “Appointment communicated to the applicant by the competent office” we refer to the email confirmation received by the applicant from the Prenot@mi portal or from the institutional email address of the Consular Office Section responsible for the application.
In all other circumstances, the new regulations apply to applications.
