Ambassador Marco Peronaci arrives in Kingston today to officially introduce himself to local authorities as the Ambassador of Italy to Jamaica.
The ceremony for the presentation of his Letters of Credence with Governor-General, Sir Patrick Linton Allen, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Kamina Johnson Smith, will take place tomorrow, September 3rd.
During his visit, which will touch Kingston, St. Elizabeth, and Montego Bay, Ambassador Peronaci will also meet with the Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Aubyn Hill.
The visit will also provide an opportunity to discuss business collaborations with representatives of the local economic community, including the President of the Chamber of Commerce, the President of the Manufacturers and Exporters Association, and the Head of the Organization of Private Sectors.
The Ambassador will also greet the Italian community living on the island, professionals active in the tourism and hospitality sectors, as well as figures from the cultural world. The Campari Group, who has a strong presence in the country, will host an event that will be attended by numerous local officials.

The Kingston area is undergoing profound infrastructural transformations that may unlock investment and growth opportunities. I will discuss this with the Foreign Minister, Smith, and the Minister of Industry, Hill” said Ambassador Peronaci.
The visit will continue with stops in St. Elizabeth and Montego Bay, where meetings are scheduled with the Governor-General’s representative, Conrad Pitkin, and the Mayor of Montego Bay, Richard Vernon.
