Italian Wonder: Massimo Listri’s magical interior images on display at the Embassy in Washington DC.

Massimo Listri: Italian Wonder

The exhibition “Massimo Listri: Italian Wonder”, organized by the Italian Cultural Institute of Washington jointly with the Embassy of Italy in Washington D.C., was opened yesterday evening in Piazza Italia in the heart of the Italian Embassy.

“Timeless images that bring masterpieces of Italian architecture into the 21st century” is how Italian Ambassador to the United States Mariangela Zappia promoted photographer Massimo Listri’s selection of images on display in the Embassy. “Massimo Listri has a unique talent in depicting art, using perspectives and giving life to the interiors of the most beautiful Italian palazzi through photos that become art in turn” she highlighted.

Listri and the exhibition’s curator, architect Renata Cristina Mazzantini, spoke at the opening.

The exhibition offers a selection of Massimo Listri’s original photographs of interiors and perspectives of palaces, museums, and other extraordinary locations in Italy. A total of sixteen images from all over Italy, from Palazzo Butera in Palermo (Sicily) to the Palazzo Reale (Royal Palace) in Venice (Veneto), that captivate viewers with their eternal beauty.

Massimo Listri’s lens seeks the musical harmony and divine perfection of architecture, chasing the music frozen in spaces. At the same time, he fills places with memories and emotions that make his “art of representing art” unique, in the curator’s words.

The exhibition will remain open in the Italian Embassy until May 16th this year.
