Participation of Italy at the NAFSA 2018 Annual Conference and Expo (Philadelphia, 29 May – 1 June 2018)

Italy is to participate for the first time at the NAFSA 2018 Annual Conference and Expo for international education in Philadelphia, Pennsylavia with an Italian pavilion. The event, to take place between May 29 and June 1, is the largest of its kind with hundreds of colleges and universities from around the world participating each year to promote their educational offerings and exchange programs with the US.

Italy’s participation is promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) as part of internationalization strategy of the country’s university and higher education system, with the primary goal to increase the number of foreign university students. In addition to the Foreign Ministry, Italy’s participation is supported by the Italian Ministry of Education, University, and Research (MIUR) and by the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI). The Italian pavilion will feature 27 universities and 2 higher education institutions for fine arts and the performing arts (AFAM).
