During his visit in the United States of America, the Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni met with President Donald Trump at the White House.
The two leaders confirmed the strategic value of the bilateral relation also in view of the G7 Summit in Taormina. At the heart of the discussion, the strengthening of the economic ties and the common commitment to face the main international challanges, starting with the fight against terrorism and the stability of the Mediterranean region.
The relations between the two countries can count, as President Trump recalled, on the extraordinary contribution of more than 18 million Americans with Italian origins, perfectly integrated and key players of the political, economic and cultural life of the United States.
The challenges to the stability and security of the Mare Nostrum, as a priority for Italy’s European agenda, were tackled by the Prime Minister during his remarks at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
