The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, as part of its Cultural Diplomacy efforts, promotes the dissemination of Italian publishing and cinematographic works abroad by providing incentives for the translation and production, dubbing, or subtitling of such works in foreign languages.
Support for translations helps foster the internationalization of Italian publishing material, and thus represents a strategic tool for promoting Italian language and culture abroad.
The Farnesina (i.e. the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) provides two types of financial incentives:
- contributions and prizes for foreign-language translations;
- contributions and prizes for the production of short films, feature films, and television series.
Interested parties may submit their applications (using only the specific form included with the call for applications, in Italian, English, or Spanish) to the competent Italian Cultural Institutes for their territory of reference —where available —or to their respective Embassies, according to the procedures established in the call for applications.
The deadline for submitting applications for the 2026 edition is March 31, 2026.
