The tenth edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, celebrated every year in Italian Embassies, Consulates, and Italian Cultural Institutes in more than 100 countries worldwide, will be celebrated with 38 dedicated events throughout the United States. This year’s theme is “Italian cuisine between health, culture and innovation”.

A specially curated menu by the Chef Ambassador, inspired by sustainability and biodiversity, will guide participants in exploring the values and benefits of Italian cuisine.

On October 5, 2025, as part of the second edition of Vinitaly USA, the leading Italian wine fair in the United States, the Consulate General inaugurated its program of events dedicated to Italian cuisine around the world, promoting wine as a meaningful expression of Italian culture, in constant dialogue with Italian artistic production over the centuries, through a concert organized at the prestigious Harris Theatre in Chicago. With a program of opera arias with references to wine, the concert was followed by a reception on the stage, with the participation of the artists, thus renewing the union between wine and the Italian tradition of conviviality.

“The Art of Simplicity: Discovering Italian Cuisine And Culture”
This is an event promoting Italian culinary traditions for the tenth annual Week of Italian Cuisine in the World for students of Italian-language programs in the Chicago district, involved in cooking classes led by Chef Elio Bartolotta and other events. The activities will focus on the themes of health and gastronomic culture, paying tribute to Italian culinary traditions and the values of simplicity, sustainability, and gratitude toward nature, inspired by the Canticle of the Creatures by St. Francis of Assisi, whose eighth centenary will be celebrated in 2025.

Balsamic Vinegar of Modena Promotional Event
A high-profile event dedicated to promoting Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, in collaboration with the Consorzio di Tutela dell’Aceto Balsamico di Modena (Consortium for the Protection of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena) and the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce of Texas.
The initiative, which will be held in the cities of Dallas and Houston, will be aimed at influencers and the specialized press, with the aim of raising awareness of the distinctive characteristics, health properties, and culinary uses of one of the iconic products of the Italian gastronomic tradition.
Through presentations and guided tastings, the event will offer a unique opportunity to promote quality Italian products, strengthening the economic and cultural ties between Italy and Texas.

A culinary journey prepared by Chef Domenico Casagrande Bei who prepared plates inspired by Caravaggio paintings with recipes from Baroque times. During the dinner, Consul Baistrocchi presented the second issue of the magazine Il Detroiter, dedicated to Italian cuisine and to the Settimana della Cucina Italiana nel Mondo. This event, in collaboration with the Dante Alighieri Society of Michigan, preceded the show “Caravaggio: Per Grazia Ricevuta” performed by the Tableaux Vivants “Teatri 35” company.

Science meets Italian cuisine

The La Jolla Institute for Immunology, the Italian Consulate General, and the Italian Cultural Institute in Los Angeles will celebrate the encounter between science and Italian cuisine. The event will open with remarks by Professor Alessandro Sette, famous Italian immunologist who has been recently awarded the honor of Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, followed by a panel discussion uniting distinguished voices in science and gastronomy: Dr. Sonia Sharma, Director of the Center for Sex-based Differences in the Immune System; Dr. Jacopo Annese, Founder and Executive Director of The Brain Observatory; and Chef Pietro Gallo from the Italian restaurant Civico 1845 located in the iconic Little Italy of San Diego. Food Design Night
Food Design Night, organized in collaboration with the Italian-American Chamber of Commerce of Southeast Florida, the Italian Cultural Institute of Miami, and the Italian Trade Agency of Miami, was the opening event of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World in Miami.
Three authentic Italian restaurants – Luca Osteria, Da Angelino, and Felice – together with two partners in the beverage sector, Valdo and Ferrarelle, showcased Italian culinary and beverage excellence in three prestigious Italian furniture showrooms in Miami’s renowned Design District: Poltrona Frau, B&B Italia, and Molteni & C.
Each restaurant presented a signature dish made exclusively with authentic Italian ingredients, celebrating the harmony between Italian cuisine and design.

Masterclass “Italian Cooking: Health, Culture, and Innovation” with Chef Vincenzo Borriello
Chef Vincenzo Borriello, of the Italian restaurant Baia Blu in Miami, will lead a special Masterclass at the Miami Culinary Institute as part of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World. The session, titled “Italian Cooking: Health, Culture, and Innovation,” will be dedicated to the students of Miami Dade College.
During the class, Chef Borriello will demonstrate the preparation of various dishes inspired by the Mediterranean culinary tradition, highlighting how authentic Italian recipes can be creatively adapted to local ingredients and products while maintaining their health benefits, cultural richness, and signature Italian identity.

This year’s theme explores the profound link between food, culture, and identity.

Showcooking with the Casa Artusi Foundation, a symbol of excellence in authentic Italian home cooking, this live cooking demonstration will reconnect us with our origins. “From Alba with Love: White Truffle and Barolo – Ambassadors of Territorial Uniqueness, Italian Excellence and Innovative Tradition”
The event will be held at the Italian Consulate on the evening of November 17th to promote Italian cuisine as a healthy, balanced, and sustainable food model, while also showcasing niche and premium products that are symbolic and fully expressive of their territory of origin.
With this in mind, the initiative pays tribute to two symbols of the Piedmontese food and wine tradition: the White Truffle of Alba and Barolo wine.
The cultural and identity dimension, the capacity for innovation while respecting tradition, and the centrality of the health aspect of Italian cuisine will therefore be embraced in a single event, which is also the first at the Consulate to introduce the new Consul General to the Italian community and the many local friends of Italy.

“Truffle hunting and tasting” with Todd Spanier, owner and founder of King of Mushrooms, and chef Rudy Duran. “Truffle hunting and harvesting” was recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2021. This recognition celebrates truffles not only as a prized food, but as a collection of knowledge, skills, techniques, and practices associated with the figure of the truffle hunter.
Expert Todd Spanier will illustrate the characteristics of truffle hunting in Italy and guide the audience on a journey of discovery of Italian truffle varieties, while chef Rudy Duran will share the secrets of his truffle risotto recipe with the audience.
