Yesterday, the Embassy of Italy in Washington celebrated Italy’s National Unity and Armed Forces Day.
“The cooperation between Italy and the United States in the defense sector represents one of the main pillars of our bilateral partnership,” said the Ambassador of Italy to the United States, Marco Peronaci, recalling that “Prime Minister Meloni and President Trump, in their Joint Statement last April, emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation on defense equipment and technologies, with the aim of making our two countries’ industrial capabilities increasingly integrated.”
Referring to the message of the President of the Italian Republic on the occasion of yesterday’s celebrations, the Ambassador underscored that Italy and the United States remain united by common political priorities and a shared vision of the future. “I am confident that in the coming years we will continue to enjoy fruitful and mutually beneficial cooperation, with the goal of making our democracies stronger and our citizens safer,” Peronaci concluded.
In addition to the Ambassador and Italy’s Defense Attaché, Gen. Davide Marzinotto, the U.S. Administration was represented by President Trump’s Special Envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg. Also attending the reception were other senior government officials, including Deputy Secretary of Commerce Paul Dabbar, as well as representatives from the Pentagon, the Department of State, and the U.S. Armed Forces.
