Dado Moroni, an Italian pianist recognized as one of the most influential ambassadors of Italian jazz in the world, will perform in a trio on Sunday, August 31st, in Washington on The Wharf’s Arena Stage, on the riverfront of the U.S. capital, as part of the DC Jazz Festival, scheduled from August 27th to 31st, 2025.
The concert, promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute in Washington as part of its cultural diplomacy activities, will be a celebration of the unifying power of jazz, a genre that not only embodies the values of freedom of expression, but is also capable of breaking down barriers and uniting cultures.
The Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Washington support the DC Jazz Festival by encouraging the participation of high-profile Italian artists. This collaboration aims to strengthen the cultural bridge between Italy and the United States, helping to reinforce dialogue and mutual understanding through the universal language of music.
In past years, the Festival has hosted important Italian musicians such as violinist Ludovica Bortone and trumpeter Paolo Fresu, offering the American public the excellence and creativity of Italian jazz. This year, Dado Moroni, a self-taught artist from Genoa who is celebrated internationally, will bring his decades of experience to the Festival stage.
