The Ambassador of Italy to the USA, Armando Varricchio visits the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019 (Las Vegas, January 9-11, 2019).

Washington, January 12, 2019 – The Ambassador of Italy to the USA, Armando Varricchio, visited Las Vegas, Nevada and attended the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). For over 50 years, CES has been the world's most important innovation show, where new ideas, technologies and investors meet. This year, thanks to the support of the Italian Trade Commission, the Sardinia Region, Teorema Engeneering and Area Science Park, over 70 Italian companies and start-ups were present at the show. During his visit to the Italian pavilion in the Eureka Park, the Ambassador met many young entrepreneurs and representatives of Italian start-ups coming from all over Italy, all driven by a strong passion for innovation and new technologies and eager to capture the American market.

"The Italian pavilion is at the center of this extraordinary reality," said the Ambassador. "The CES2019 participants are well aware of the richness of our manufacturing and that Italians are both great entrepreneurs and great innovators. Visiting the Italian pavilion allows you to experience first-hand the incredible creativity and competitive strength of our country."

In Las Vegas the Ambassador met newly elected Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak, with whom he underlined the importance of cooperation between Italy, the USA, and Nevada in particular, to foster growth and employment opportunities. The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Italian company IGT, a world leader in entertainment field and one of the biggest employers in the State of Nevada.

Finally, Ambassador Varricchio met with representatives of the Italian community and visited the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, a world renowned research center for the treatment of brain diseases, founded by the Italian-American Larry Ruvo.
