ITALIAN AMBASSADOR HOSTS NATIONAL SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA MUSIC DIRECTOR GIANANDREA NOSEDA ON THE OCCASION OF THE 40TH ANNUAL KENNEDY CENTER HONORS

Washington D.C., December 1, 2017 –The Ambassador of Italy to the USA, Armando Varricchio, hosted a black tie event to honor Music Director of the National Symphony Orchestra, Gianandrea Noseda, on the occasion of the 40th annual Kennedy Center Honors.

The National Trustees and members of the Board of the National Symphony Orchestra with supporters of the Kennedy Center came together at the Ambassador’s residence, Villa Firenze. Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Samuel Alito were among the guests.

Gianandrea Noseda stated, “Lucia and I are delighted to be able to attend our first Kennedy Center Honors. We thank Ambassador Varricchio for hosting this event in celebration of all of this year’s Honorees. We look forward to seeing this exciting show.”

Gianandrea Noseda is the first Italian Music Director of the National Symphony Orchestra. He also serves as Music Director of the Teatro Regio Torino, Principal Guest Conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.
