The Embassy of Italy in Washington, D.C. hereby announces the launch of a procedure for the submission of expressions of interest for inclusion on the Embassy\u2019s referral list of law firms, which will be published on the Embassy\u2019s website and made available to users of the office who require legal assistance and do not have local counsel.<\/p>\n

The list, established on the basis of applications submitted by interested law firms, shall remain permanently open and is not subject to any deadline.<\/p>\n

Please note that inclusion on the list is for informational purposes only and does not constitute any form of endorsement by the Embassy, nor does it imply any economic relationship with the listed law firms.<\/p>\n

Interested law firms may apply, subject to the following professional requirements:<\/p>\n

Registration with the competent Bar Association.<\/li>\n
Knowledge of Italian law or established collaborative relationships with law firms in Italy (preferred).<\/li>\n
Knowledge of the Italian language by at least one member of the firm (preferred).<\/li>\n
Operations within the consular jurisdiction of the Embassy (District of Columbia; the counties of Montgomery and Prince George\u2019s in the State of Maryland; the counties of Arlington and Fairfax, as well as the cities of Alexandria and Falls Church, in the Commonwealth of Virginia), with the capacity to represent, advise, and defend clients within the relevant jurisdiction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
The areas of practice most frequently requested include criminal law, immigration law, family law, commercial law, and tax law.<\/p>\n
Interested professionals are invited to submit their applications for inclusion on the Embassy\u2019s list, accompanied by a cover letter and a declaration confirming that they have not been convicted of any criminal or disciplinary offence and that no criminal or disciplinary proceedings are currently pending against them, to the following email address: c_affairs.washington@esteri.it<\/a>.<\/p>\n
