Yesterday, the Embassy of Italy in Washington celebrated Italy\u2019s National Unity and Armed Forces Day.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe cooperation between Italy and the United States in the defense sector represents one of the main pillars of our bilateral partnership,\u201d said the Ambassador of Italy to the United States, Marco Peronaci, recalling that \u201cPrime Minister Meloni and President Trump, in their Joint Statement last April, emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation on defense equipment and technologies, with the aim of making our two countries\u2019 industrial capabilities increasingly integrated.\u201d<\/p>\n
Referring to the message of the President of the Italian Republic on the occasion of yesterday\u2019s celebrations, the Ambassador underscored that Italy and the United States remain united by common political priorities and a shared vision of the future. \u201cI am confident that in the coming years we will continue to enjoy fruitful and mutually beneficial cooperation, with the goal of making our democracies stronger and our citizens safer,\u201d Peronaci concluded.<\/p>\n
In addition to the Ambassador and Italy\u2019s Defense Attach\u00e9, Gen. Davide Marzinotto, the U.S. Administration was represented by President Trump\u2019s Special Envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg.
