Fellini Jazz – A tribute to the Cinema of Federico Fellini by Maestro Enrico Pieranunzi

On the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Maestro Federico Fellini, the Embassy of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Washington organized a concert last night by the internationally renowned Italian pianist Enrico Pieranunzi, accompanied by Luca Bulgarelli on the double-bass and Mauro Drumstick on the drums. The concert was centered on the memorable soundtracks of the films of the Italian Maestro. During the evening Enrico Pieranunzi performed, and interpreted "in a jazzy way", songs that marked the history of music and that of Italian and world cinema. From La Dolce Vita, to La Strada, from I Vitelloni to Amarcord, the trio offered the audience a program that highlighted the creative genius of Nino Rota and the emotional strength of his music. The concert at the Embassy falls within the context of the numerous events that the Embassy of Italy, in collaboration with the Institutes of Culture and the diplomatic-consular network in the USA, has planned, in conjunction with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Heritage and of Cultural Activities, to celebrate the hundredth anniversary of the birth of the great director.
