Italian design and jewelry. Innovation and tradition at the center of the conversation with Lucia Odescalchi (Washington February 11, 2020).

Washington February 12, 2020. The Embassy of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute of Washington organized, in collaboration with the National Museum of Women in the Art (NMWA) in Washington, a discussion on Italian design and jewelry in the presence of the artist Lucia Odescalchi. The conversation, hosted in the Embassy’s Auditorium and moderated by Ilene Gutman, Deputy Director of NMWA, highlighted the thread uniting the creations of Lucia Odescalchi, worn by numerous personalities on the international scene, to the history, culture and traditions of Italy. Lucia Odescalchi's jewels, exhibited for the first time in the USA, are unique creations characterized by a particular combination of gold, platinum, silver and precious stones with new materials such as silicone, resins and carbon fibers. They are made through the use of cutting-edge technologies that bridge the past and the present, allowing the creation of jewels of eternal beauty. "Her creations - said Ilene Gutman - have their roots in a millennial artistic and goldsmith tradition that Lucia has been able to adapt and shape with a look at the future and the needs of the contemporary world".
