Ambassador Varricchio's trip to NY. Inauguration of the new Campari Headquarters in New York with the company's top management. (8-11 March 2019).

Washington, March 11, 2019. The Ambassador of Italy to the United States Armando Varricchio participated, along with President Garavoglia, CEO Kunze-Concewitz, and the Mananging Director for North America, Dubau, in the inauguration of the new headquarters of Campari USA. The event, that took place yesterday in the "Grace Building" in New York, was the occasion to celebrate the success story of Campari in the USA, the group's most profitable international market.

The Ambassador recalled how Campari has exported Italian style since 1860, becoming at the same time an iconic symbol of "Made in Italy" and an element of "pop" culture. The spirits market is an important and constantly growing sector for our exports to North America. "Italy - underlined the Ambassador - with its companies, its traditions, its ability to create and innovate - represents a point of reference for the" food and beverage "market in the USA."

On March 11, Ambassador Varricchio awarded Maria-Josée Kravis, President Emeritus of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMa), with the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic in the rank of Knight. "The great attention always shown by the President to Italian art and culture, also translated into important loans by the Museum for major exhibitions held in prestigious Italian institutions, such as the Scuderie del Quirinale" are - as explained by the Ambassador - the reasons behind the decision of the President of the Republic to bestow this award. The Ambassador also spoke at the closing of the exhibition on the Italian sculptor Fausto Melotti, hosted by the Italian Consulate General in New York with the collaboration of Magazzino Italian Art.

On Friday 8 March, the Ambassador took part in the annual Gala of the Italian School Guglielmo Marconi. The Gala was attende by Gianmaria Verona, President of Bocconi University, Andre Prencipe President of LUISS University.
