Renewal of Memorandum of Agreement for Teaching of the Italian language in Montgomery County

The increase of Italian language courses in Montgomery County middle and high schools will be discussed at a meeting at William H. Farquhar Middle School by the Director of the Education Office of the Italian Embassy, Professor Maria Fusco, and school area Principals on January 6.

This further initiative closely follows the renewal of the Memorandum of Agreement between the Embassy of Italy and Montgomery County Public Schools, represented respectively by First Counselor Catherine Flumiani and Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Andrew M. Zuckerman. The agreement was also signed by the President of the Casa Italian Language School, Dr. Joseph Lupo, who will manage its execution.

The new Memorandum will enhance the teaching of Italian language and culture in the County also through teacher-training activities, the development of educational projects with Italian schools via the Internet, and by providing educational material.
