Confirmatory referendum (updated November 21, 2016)

The electoral kit containing the material to vote by mail was sent to Italian citizens living abroad who are registered with AIRE (Registry of Italians Resident Abroad (A.I.R.E.) and eligible to vote, and to voters who are temporarily abroad (Law 459/2001) to their addresses. Voters who have not yet received electoral envelopes may contact the Consular Office of jurisdiction to request a duplicate. Consular offices will also be open on November 26 and 27, 2016 (the Consular Office in Washington, D.C., will be open from 10.00-12.00 a.m. and from 2.30 – 5.00 p.m. on both days. Voters must personally express their vote, as specified in the instructions contained in the electoral kit. The ballot does not bear any Consular Office stamp or signature.

To cast their vote and return completed ballots, voters must carefully follow instructions provided and promptly mail the pre-stamped envelope provided to ensure delivery to the Consular Office of jurisdiction no later than 4.00 p.m., on December 1, 2016.
