Notary Services

The Italian Consular Offices execute notary services only for Italian citizens outside of Italy.

The Notary Office of the Chancery in Washington D.C. receives only by appointment on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12.30PM to 3:30PM. In order to set an appointment please fill in one of the following forms and send it to 

When requesting an appointment please include:

  1. the personal data of the person or persons who will sign the notarial act and of the person who has been delegated (if any). Date and detailed place of birth, in addition to maiden names for women, must be included.
  2. Detailed purpose of the notarial act. If the notarial act will reference real estate assets all cadastral land record data must be included aside from specifying the exact type of power of attorney or any other notarial act that is required.

When notarizing a General Power of Attorney, a Deed of Donation, an Acceptance of Donation, Witnessed Declarations and/or Prenuptial Agreements two witnesses must be present at signing. Their complete personal data must be conveyed in advance to our Notary Office.
